When the pandemic hit us hard, we realise that even in the worst times there are opportunities to look into. This is like the famous American proverb “ when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. AWS Distribution is set-up in October 2020, in the peak of pandemic when the supply chain of many critical products are disrupted.
We found opportunities when many established names in the Distribution landscape faltered on their commitments and the principal companies looking for new, financially sound Distribution Companies for entrusting their Agencies.
Please do not construe AWS as a new company. We are a part of the diversified Abdulwahed Bin Shabib Group of businesses having a glorious history of 40 years.
AWS is primarily focused in Food distribution across GCC spanning a whole spectrum of products from frozen items, canned food, vegetables, rice, grains etc.and other FMCG and Horeca items.
We are also engaged in Distribution of non-food items, household goods, electronic items etc. Down the lane, we intend to develop our own branded products with a focus on quality.
AWS is well capitalized to the tune of AED 300 Million and having an excellent infrastructure of own warehouses, cold storages, labor accommodation etc. AWS has a good talent pool of dedicated employees who are well experienced in Distribution business and geared to serve you well.
As Dubai is strategically located at the crossroads between East and West serving a large population within its reach, we foresee great opportunities for our Distribution business.
President Journey
Born in the mid 1950’s, Abdulwahed Bin Shabib hailed from Deira, the oldest business and trading area in Dubai. Coming from a dynasty of clergymen, Abdulwahed Bin Shabib chose another route; a route that eventually led him to be a revered business leader in the UAE.
In the backdrop of modest accomplishments, he led teams and became acting general manager of Dubai Chamber to MNC business as Area Manager. His drive came from watching businessmen as a little boy, in his eyes they grew from small one shutter store to expansive buildings in such a short time. Businessmen who would ride their bikes to work everyday eventually started owning their very own cars, he knew that this was the path to follow.
Upon the completion of his Masters, he started sharing his knowledge as a Lecturer in Al Ain University and eventually working in one of the leading banks in the region.
In 1981, Abdulwahed Bin Shabib courageously ventured on his own to start a general trading business in machinery and electrical equipments. The business then took off to include a diverse spectrum of activities including automation, instrumentation and calibration equipments, which helped him in acquiring various leading brands in the GCC such as Omron.
His extensive properties include bustling buildings like 2020, bin Shabib malls, Mobile Plaza & House as well as cold storages and warehouses in the most sought after areas in the region.
Currently, he expanded the businesses across GCC to Europe and Asia, by adopting a digitization processes in line with the evolving market trends and has many plans in the future to diversify the company’s portfolio into new streams of revenue that aided his success in the past.
The FMCG sector flourished and continued to have optimistic outlook, we all know that crises bring opportunities. Abdulwahed Bin Shabib ventured with the new company AWS distribution which is in the FMCG sector wherein we focus on food and consumer distribution and Horeca.
